Zooplankton are animals that live all or part of their life as plankton, suspended and drifting in the water column. In the Arctic, and the rest of the world's oceans, zooplankton are important components of the food web. This video explains how scientists on the Hidden Ocean 2016: Chukchi Borderlands expedition used a plankton net to collect zooplankton in order to study these small animals and their role in the Arctic ecosystem.
