Back in March, Congress passed a clean, bipartisan continuing resolution in order to keep the government funded. Two weeks ago, my colleagues and I passed an identical continuing resolution in the House to keep the government funded for seven more weeks. This time, Senate Democrats led by Chuck Schumer have decided to reject what they had previously voted for and shut down the government.
