Two men have been rescued after their vessel capsized off the coast of Garden Island on Tuesday, 16 September 2025. At approximately 10:15am, a mayday call was received over marine radio channel VHF16, reporting a vessel in distress. Shortly after, the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Canberra alerted authorities to an EPIRB activation in the same area. Water Police coordinated the deployment of air and sea assets, including the Australian Maritime Safety Authority - AMSA Challenger jet, Depa
