DLSS 4.5 levels up image quality with NVIDIA's most sophisticated AI model to date, while also expanding Multi Frame Generation's capabilities.
Nvidia has announced DLSS 4.5, an update to its Deep Learning Super Sampling technology that brings improvements to both image quality and frame generation. The new version introduces a second-generation transformer model and expands multi-frame generation capabilities,
At CES 2026, Nvidia hasn't announced any new graphics cards. A new version of DLSS, which is also available for older graphics cards, compensates for this.
Also new is dynamic frame gen, letting you only experience frame gen when needed, and you can apply these updates to old games.
Its Super Resolution component is a second-generation upgrade to the 'Transformer' upscaling model introduced with DLSS 4, and on top of the improvements that version made over ye olde Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) of dee-ell-ess-esses past,
It’s also worth noting that Dynamic Multi Frame Generation will be exclusive to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs. Meanwhile, the improved Super Resolution Transformer will be available for all RTX cards. The new feature is expected to launch in spring 2026.
Starting off with DLSS 4.5, this tech features 2 nd generation Super Resolution transformer and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation. Nvidia says that DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution provides better “temporal stability”, reduces ghosting and gives smoother edges.
The ability to upscale AI generated videos to 4K in seconds using NVIDIA's RTX Video is coming to ComfyUI in February for GeForce RTX owners.
Fortunately if you're thinking of upgrading your PC right now, it's not too late to get a current generation GeForce graphics card at retail pricing. Select variants of the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5070, and RTX 5060 Ti 16GB graphics cards are currently available at Walmart and Amazon without any markup, but who knows for how long.
